I just got this email from the reader who calls himself "some dude":
Hey- have you considered posting something for your readers today?
For crying out loud stop being so self absorbed with your convention of where ever you are and get some material posted on the blog!!!
sheesh.
This guy's right. I've just been too tired to post.
You see, I moved back from the east coast on Saturday, and I'm dealing with the oddly powerful jet-lag that seems to have followed me home. Someone actually told me a couple months ago that "going over is no problem - it's coming back that will wipe you out." I thought he was full of it, as it's only a three hour time change, but, lordy lord, he couldn't have been more corrector.
Thinking about it, there must be some good reasons for this:
- I'm going to sleep three hours later than usual
- I'm eating three hours later than usual
- I'm taking the blood pressure meds three hours later than usual
Combined, these are actually some pretty big changes. The body works according to a schedule, and I've broken with that schedule. It's had me feeling completely listless and dead since I arrived. Jim Blizzard told me last night that he used to make similar trips, and that coming back to the west coast always wiped him out for a few days. I didn't think it'd affect me, but I was obviously wrong.
So, that's the status update.
Which probably leaves you wondering about why I'm back on the west coast...
