TechEd Coding Slave Meet-up Info

I was trying to figure out what the best place would be to meet up for the Coding Slave get together when Andrew Baum, in a comment, said something very sane:

Would it be easier to just meet up in front of the center and make a decision on the spot?

Yup.

What we'll do, then, is meet at the red X on this map (that is, we won't actually meet on this map (stop trying to stand on your monitor), but at the real location represented by the X):

This is just about smack in the center of the front of the convention center. Ought to be easy to find. I've pointed to some landmarks with blue arrows. If you'd like to see the entire map of which this segment is just one small part, then click here and then click on the "room viewer" link. It takes a second to pop up, so be patient.

Once it finally loads, you won't be looking at the ground floor, but one of the upper levels. In the upper left-hand corner of the window, click the "Ground Level" button, and you'll get the map you're after.

That was more complicated than I would have liked, but these things happen.

So, we're going to meet at 7:00 PM on Sunday - this Sunday. I'll bring along a list of nearby destinations, and we can do things all democratic-like and vote on where we'd like to go once we've all met at the red X.

It'll be fun, thought provoking, and I'm counting on seeing you bastards there :)

I wonder, should I plan to bring some picket signs, just in case we decide to march en masse? :>

I have two hesitations about this approach:

1) Decision by committee can be painful

and more importantly,

2) Anyone that arrives a little late (I will be cutting it close with my flight) will never know where you ended up.

I wonder if you could leave information with people at the conference registration desk? Would they let you put up a sign or something?

Good thinking, Bob.

If anybody needs my number, too, then contact me at rory@neopoleon.com.

There is a Dick's Last Resort 1 block or so into the Gaslamp Quarter. It's a pretty neat bar/grill to hang out at.

I think I've been there, the name is familiar (it's also a great name for a strip club don't you think?)

Rory - wanna send me that cell number just in case?

I'm going to try to make it but I was planning to hit both the unit testing BoF and the Architects Road Rally. So I may just have to swing by and say hi.
