Attention all preverts...

Stalkers and preverts celebrate: I've decided to start running my web cam again.

Now you can get all hot and bothered while watching me engaged in any of the following activities:

- Coding (ooh la-la!)

- Writing (sizzlicious)

- Picking my nose after forgetting the cam is on (picktastic)

So, have fun with yourself and all your deviated preversions.

You can watch a thumbnail on the home page of a forgetful me picking my nose, or you can click on said thumbnail to get a full-size pickfest.

Yeah, Preverts. Rory is of French descent (as well as short-opinionated and big-nosed, or so he says) and he was obviously thinking of that guy:

More seriously: any chance to get a peek at your .NET (?) code for handling the webcam, Rory?

"Preverts ?"

It's a reference to the film "Dr. Strangelove."

If you haven't seen it, then you really must.

The "deviated prevert" scene is especially satisfying.

There are a couple reasons why I would say no:

- It's three years old and a total mess

- It relies on the Logitech QuickCam SDK, which I can't seem to find on the Logitech site anymore (had to jump through a few hoops to get this thing working again) - that would make it difficult for you to do anything with it at all

What I want to do is rewrite the thing so that I'm coding against TWAIN (the Logitech SDK is just a wrapper around TWAIN anyway).

The problem is that TWAIN seems to be a pig sty of an API, and I don't know if I have the time to do it...

Another option is using DirectX DirectShow. That's probably the route I'll take (again, provided I ever have any time).

The code, as it currently is, would not be especially useful to anyone, seeing as how it relies on an unavailable SDK, and is messy enough that I was slapping my forehead last night as I found stupid .NET mistakes (understandable given the code's age, but still irritating).

Woo-Hoo! Looking forward to watching the sizzlicious writing!!! I'll pass on the picktastic pickfest, though. As a school teacher, I get enough of that in the classroom on a daily basis. *sigh*

Yeah... 's not me.

Look in the upper-right hand corner of the image - the dark square - I'm on the other side of that wall, playing internet on my tablet over the wifi.

I'm zipping through Denver tomorrow on my way to Miami so I guess I'll miss you by a day or so - have a good trip!
