The blogging hiatus will officially be over tomorrow (Monday) morning.
I don’t know where this “official” business came from, as I never stated that I’d be putting the blog back up tomorrow, but that’s what rolled out of my brain and onto the screen, and I’m too lazy and tired to go back and change it, so it’s going to stick. Tomorrow is the official date.
That said, I’m obviously posting right now, so it seems that I’m jumping the gun on my own official date, which is weird. It would be like scooping your own news story or leaking information about your bad relationship to the press for added coverage (and we know that never happens, don’t we, eh?).
Anyway, I guess I’m just writing to let you know a few things:
1. The first post I’ll be putting up tomorrow is a bit of an experiment. It’s the first that Aydika (my girlfriend) and I have written together, and I don’t think we’ve quite worked out how we’re going to collaborate, although we’ve definitely got something started. I expect the process to become much cleaner and easier in the future, resulting in fewer cavities and accidental deaths.
2. If you’re into this whole stupid blogging craze, and if you really enjoy writing, then consider taking a couple weeks off sometime to clear your head. Not that this is representative of what I did. Since I was trying to get over two month’s of bronchitis, I spent a good chunk of my time off loaded up on codeine (to stop the cough), sick on antibiotics, and wanting to puke. I’m just saying that you don’t have to do it the way I did it.
3. I started a moblog. I’ll be making an “official” post (I’m really throwing that word around tonight) about it, but if you want to check it out, you can get to it here: rory.textamerica.com. I’ve also written a kind of review about the device I’m using to post, and that’ll be coming up this week.
4. I set up Aydika’s site. She’ll be introducing it to you before too long. If it works (it’s a different kind of blog), then it’ll be pretty damn cool.
And now I’m going to bed. Presenting in Tacoma on Tuesday, and I need my beauty sleep.
