Last year I did a civilian stint for the SOA, Secret Operations Force. I made a list of all the acronyms I couldn’t figure out after looking at the code of the application for a couple of weeks. I presented the list to my boss for him to fill me in. He was a lifer, thirty years, he slowly looked over the list and handed it back to me. He then said in his Montana raised/ Army lifer drawl “ We really don’t remember what they all are, the words, I mean what words the letters represent. We just know what they are”. I nodded and went back to my desk. I just realized how amusing his reply is after seeing it written down.

The sick thing I just realized, says at the bottom: posted on Friday, January 28, 2005 5:42 PM and I'm talking about getting back to work.

One of these days "management" will turn into that kush job I always thought it was.

Well, since this is such an old post I'm probably safe to admit this now because no one will see it.

I checked out your boss's blog and then clicked on the Profile link and was absolutely stunned. Yep, I have to admit, your boss is one attractive fellow and he looked like a cool guy too.

I mean here he was standing on top of some rugged looking SUV vehicle wearing cool shoes, blue jeans and a rumpled dress shirt staring off into the future with a look that said, I'm ready for you Future, I don't know what you'll bring, but I'm not worried because I know what I'm bringing when you come.

Yep, one handsome fellow.

Are you really allowed to point out any verbal slip ups made by a man that good looking and casual and comfortable and confident? I don't know Rory, seems kind of dangerous to me.
