Weasel Coffee

Of all the weird–ass things in the universe.

Of all the..

Of…

I mean, just think about this:

Delicious coffee regurgitated by weasels.

Um.

Uh.

This just isn’t the kind of thing you want to encounter while coming down from your prescription meds.

Go.

Look.

So, Rory. How exactly does one just happen to stumble upon this kind of thing? What words were entered in your search engine, and what were you in fact searching for?

While she was still writing, Monica had a post about this and other freakish stuff sold at Selfridges - a very expensive, trendy and designer type department store here in London.

She even managed to get some photos of the more ... exotic stuff.

About 2 years ago I read an article along these lines where a type of Brazilian coffee was made from a bean that passed through the body of a monkey (does not break down and digest the beans) and then were gathered up and ground to make coffee or shipped as whole beans.

I know you like tea, and who doesn't like monkeys, so why not drink tea picked by monkeys?

I used to work across the street from J. Martinez and company. They sold the kopi luak coffee for $300/pound. Which made the cost of a single cup about five bucks. I figured I had to taste the worlds most expensive coffee and you know what, it wasn't that bad. You could say it was smoooooth.

He even won an award for it. The award is called the IgNobel.

I think this is a good indicator to how powerful of a drug caffeine is: people will pay exponentially more money for something that has been eaten and regurgitated by a rather large rodent in the hopes that they get a better kick out of it as opposed to just using it in it's natural, un-eaten form....reminds me of when my friends and I would not have papers to roll our weed with; we would instead take an empty pop can and poke holes in the side of it, hold it on it’s side with the holes facing up, place the chuck of hydro on the holes, light with a lighter, and inhale through the hole in the top of the pop can were you would usually drink out of….pathetic eh?

The kopi luak coffee isn't regurgitated, it comes out as intestinal sculpture.

"Intestinal Sculpture"? I like it.

Remember.. Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.
