As my dad said to my miscreant brothers more than once during my teenage years: "Just get the car wax out and rub it REAL HARD! Then your mother might not notice..." (I don't think a little car wax will do the trick this time...

Then he usually followed that up with "Of course, you COULD just move to Canada with all those other draft dodgers!"

Of course, it was always MY car that they were denting up...

Now this cute little red car is really YOUR car, right? Not your future wife's, RIGHT?!?!?! (I hear Canada is nice this time of the year!)

Poor poor Mini. It received some hard lovin' from a cab and wasn't even given a reach-around. Sad.

I see this kind of stuff daily, though it doesn't always lead to accidents. Human group behavior is pretty facinating in that someone can completely screw up and their "problem" can be absorbed by the whole so that no consequences become of it. This time, there were consequences.

How much you wanna bet this wasn't the first and this won't be the last for the cabby. Accidents tend not to change driving habits, though in my case they made a pretty good impression (it was more the spending money I don't have part). Hopefully he got a ticket, cops were called, and all that fun stuff. Also a word of advice, never admit fault let the police figure out who's to blame. Wouldn't have taken a genius to figure out who gets the ticket there. Failure to yield right of way, improper lane change, and erratic driving are just a couple of what I could come up with. I'm sure a good cop would have loved to slap on more for good measure. They teach him a lesson with money, and you feel slightly better about some retard crashing into you. Could have been a nice win/win but it looks like that didn't happen exactly.

My first month in Seattle: Driving downtown to a client's site. Jag in the right lane. A tandem dump truck in left lane. Dump truck needs to turn right - and just does it. The jag didn't have a chance. Ripped the entire front left quarter panel off the jag. The truck driver didn't even notice - or if he did, he didn't care. Kept on driving. Jag took off after him, leaving the quarter panel behind.

That was sad.

But not as sad as seeing the picture of your poor little Mini. Give it a kiss for me.

Does this cute little Mini have a name? (Us readers have this urge to personify the darling little critter...)

How else are we supposed to know what name to put on the "Get Well" cards we're gonna send to the car clinic where you're going to get it's nose fixed. (Will it come out having a big French nose instead of that dainty little English nose?)

It doesn't have a name yet? Then maybe we should have a "Name Rory's Cute Car Contest"...

You bastard. You put many links to the same URL and had me clicking on each and thinking "something's wrong" because they all went to the same page and only then did I notice the URL was the same. Stop doing that!
