New Code Room Episode

I’ve gotten a few emails about this today, and I’m also expecting a few more over the next few days, so I want to clear up any further confusion:

I was not involved with the current episode of The Code Room in any way.

That’s about as unambiguous as I can get about it :)

Will you be involved with future episodes or has that fallen by the way? I'll watch it if you are having a large hand in it because it might be pretty funny if they let you have creative control, otherwise I'll take a pass on it.

Andy -

I'm not part of the project anymore.

From what I understand, what I wanted to do didn't align with what my division wanted to get out of the show.

And where does Mr. T fit into the story?

"And where does Mr. T fit into the story?"

I haven't been involved in the project for months.

I watched it, but wish I hadn't wasted the time. It wasn't bad it was just very hokey. Expensive as well I'd guess what with helicopters, swooping shots, slick editing. But for what? To try and make "cross site scripting" and "threat modelling" look sexy? The educational value was nil (other than throwing a few buzz words into the mix). I don't see how there can be any real ROI on something that was clearly not cheap to produce!

Ian,
That is exactly what I feared it would be without the "hand-o-Rory". Thanks for saving me the time to go see if I was right. To bad they didn't let Rory do it it would have 10,000 times more interest from just about everyone I know had Rory been the one doing it. Now it's just another bad marketing scheme instead of something creative and funny that would have brought more value to the business. Everything Mr. Blyth touches (or refuses to touch due to germs) ends up being pretty d@mn funny and entertaining. To bad they couldn't have seen that and taken advantage of it.

Certainly was a mistake dropping you.

Am downloading atm.

This was originally shot in memory of the code room and the good old days:

Gave up after 8 mins. Frankly that is complete shite.

Anywho, any decent developer has security knowledge

My area are servers OSs, network security and hardware. I'm not a true developer but frankly... that was basics with crap acting and a really sad plot.

The Code Room has such great potential and the two first episodes where actually good. Then the "Las Vegas" episode comes along and ruins the whole concept. It's just too much. I hope they can turn it around and make something interesting and entertaining again.
