The release was announced during Gamescom 2017 and everyone has been waiting with bated breath. Creative director Adam Isgreen shared some teasers about AoE4, saying that they are working on modernizing the game but not making it overly complicated. AoE4 will showcase historical content with challenging real-time strategy game plays, by not limiting the game to one single era. Another thing that players will no longer see in AoE4 will be the microtransactions.

It is the sequel to Halo 5: Guardians. One of the things fans will look forward to is the return of the split-screen. There are 2 game play modes –  the standard game mode with 24 rounds and the Spike Rush mode with 7 rounds. It figured in a controversy over its anti-cheat software, saying that players could be spied on and the kernel drive could be exploited. Riot Games denied these and offered a bug bounty program to raise vulnerabilities in the software.
